Fatigue didn’t allow me to observe the panorama. I leaned in order to drink water from the lake y this allowed me to see the reflection of the immensity of the largest rock wall in Colombia, the Ritak U’wa Blanco. For a moment I was paralyzed but immediately I reacted and ran to the camp in search of my camera.

When I arrived at the hut adorned with sheep skins and I was offered black coffee and trout, I sat on the door of the old kitchen made with traces of “frailejones” observing how a curtain of clouds disappeared before my eyes and allowed me to see the marvellous contrast of the mountains and the green of the lake.

Covered by the 180 degrees of glacier that drop from the five snow peaks and in contrast with the rocks and the four lakes that sprinkle this enormous arid valley, wild, silent and silent location wrapped by its thick clouds coming from the eastern plains, the mules pass through loaded with equipment, foodstuff and together with these, all the personnel of guides and aides that have prepared everything meticulously for this expedition.

I woke up and slightly dizzy because of the insomnia that I occasionally get because of the mountains and I looked at my watch surprised to find it was only 10 pm. There was an intense light that went through the walls of the tent that was produced by the full moon that accompanied us that magical night. The deep silence frightened me and the curiosity to look around invaded me. Assuming that the evening would be clear so as to see the happy and famous lake of the Plaza.
