Formation is the most important factor and absolutely necessary for the use of this types of work techniques.

The theoretical and practical mastering of the access techniques with chords is totally necessary because without this requirement this kind of work must never be carried out.

Experience shows that situations exist that make it difficult to apply in the correct form the knowledge acquired, such as:

• Tiredness, distractions, and confusions that may lead to the practice of wrong manoeuvres
• Hastiness either because of the pressures derived of the time available for the task or because the day is over

Application fields

The system of access to the place of work by means of chords could be proposed in those jobs where the setting up of traditional systems (scaffolding, etc.) motivates the appearance of great difficulties for carrying out the job or where they suppose a greater risk for workers than the realization of the job itself with techniques of vertical jobs. The fields of application of these techniques could be:

• Finishing and maintenance jobs
• Rehabilitation and maintenance of industrial equipments and monuments

• Slopes and rocky fronts

• All those interventions with access difficulties

Levels

The course is given in person for groups of 10 people in the different levels: Basic, advanced and expert. In the three cases, the course will be divided in a theoretical and practical part, and it is given in the premises of the client or in the municipality of Suesca, Cundimarca (1 hour ftom Bogotá).
